This webinar will explore the role of whole body anatomy for vocalizing, with a focus on injury prevention and management. The journey will begin at the feet and continue up to the head, describing the anatomical and kinetic relationships of the body’s structures in the context of optimal breath management and vocalizing. The information will be contextualized to the practical applications for both singers and teachers.

About Jennie Morton

Based in Los Angeles, Jennie Morton, BSc (Hons) Osteopathy, MS Psychology specialises in the treatment of all performing artists. She is a former ballet dancer, musical theatre performer, and professional singer, and now provides education on healthy practice to performers and teachers, as well as being a performance coach.

Jennie is the Wellness Professor at the Colburn School, adjunct professor in the College of Performing Arts at Chapman University, and sits on the Board of Directors of the Performing Arts Medicine Association. She trains health practitioners in the management of performers’ injuries and is a syllabus co-creator of the MSc in Performing Arts Medicine at University College London.

Jennie lectures internationally on the subject of performing arts medicine, and her book ‘The Authentic Performer: Wearing A Mask and the Effect on Health’ was published in 2015.
